Key Stage Two Achievement – Letter from the Minister for Schools

Following our KS2 results for the 2022-23 academic year, we were thrilled to receive this letter from the Minister for Schools, congratulating our pupils and our staff team on their achievement. We’re very proud of our children, and pleased to be in the top 2% of schools nationally for Key Stage Two attainment.

Key Stage 2 Results, 2023

Congratulations to our second cohort of Year 6 pupils on a wonderful year, and on a well-deserved set of outcomes. We are very proud of them for many reasons, and of course are pleased to say that 90% of pupils achieved the expected standard in reading, writing, and mathematics. Of this cohort, 100% achieved the expected standard in writing, 97% in maths, and 93% in reading. The data table below compares these results to the local average for primary schools in Richmond Upon Thames, and the national average across primary schools.

We are delighted that our children’s progress across the school remains strong. Our progress data for each subject is as follows:

KS2 Progress Scores, 2022-2023
Subject Deer Park School Richmond Average National Average
Reading +3.3 +1.8 0.0
Writing +4.7 +1.3 0.0
Mathematics +2.9 +1.7 0.0

Our KS2 attainment data currently places Deer Park School as 2nd out of the 72 schools in Richmond and Kingston.

Key Stage 2 results, 2022

Our first cohort of pupils finished their time at Deer Park in 2022. We are thoroughly proud of them for their hard work, and delighted that 96.6% of pupils achieved the expected standard in reading, writing, and mathematics. Of this cohort, 100% achieved the expected standard in reading and mathematics. The data table below compares these results to the local average for primary schools in Richmond Upon Thames, and the national average across primary schools.

The Department for Education (DfE) has not published KS2 school level data for the 2021 to 2022 academic year (the last available public data is from the 2018 to 2019 academic year), and schools are not required to make this information on pupil attainment available. However, we have made the decision to continue to publish our KS2 outcomes from the 2021-2022 academic year, which are shown below:
