New Building
We were delighted to be informed that Lidl have received the formal decision notice regarding meeting the planning conditions. The Section 106 agreement (dealing with Highways issues) between Lidl and Richmond has also been signed. This was one of the issues that delayed moving onto the next stage of the process.

The demolition conditions were submitted to Richmond in late September and are expected to take 8 weeks to be approved. This requires Lidl to provide a dust management plan, construction management plan, waste management plan, along with noise and vibration plans. Once the demolition conditions have been agreed this will result in demolition of Ryde House commencing in December rather than the previously reported November.

The demolition is still planned for 10 weeks and should therefore be finished around the beginning of March 2018. With a clear site, and approval of the pre-commencement conditions, building work can then begin in late spring.
We are still being assured that the handover of the school will still take place in August 2019, ready for the school to start in its new building in September 2019.

September 2018 Arrangements

Outline agreement has been reached with London Borough of Richmond to use part of the Old Deer Park car park for two additional portacabins for September 2018. This will allow the school to grow by a further 60 pupils in 18/19 academic year. The next stage involves the formal written agreement and lease to be signed by both parties.

Admission Arrangements

Lastly, we are very pleased to announce that we have clarified the basis for where distance from school is measured for admissions in September 2018. This will use Ryde House as the school as the basis of measurement. This will result in applications being prioritised according to the permanent location of the school at Ryde House rather than the temporary location at Richmond Adult Community College.
Parents can now apply for a place for September 2018 via eAdmissions website here.

This bulletin aims to keep all interested parties of the latest updates that have been provided to us from Lidl regarding the new school site at Ryde House. The Trust, along with the ESFA have been in regular correspondence with Lidl over the summer holidays to get the latest information and we are pleased to be able to give you another update, with progress continuing behind the scenes

You will be aware that demolition at the site was planned for this July, however this has unfortunately fallen back due to the time it is taking for the planning conditions to be agreed. We are pleased to say that these have been agreed and we are waiting for the formal sign off from the local planning authority. All this needed to be agreed and in place before demolition can start and it has been a complicated process. Lidl are now in a position to move ahead swiftly with the next stages of conditions.

Following the finalising of the pre demolition conditions, the next stage of the process will be the start of demolition, which we expect to commence from November 2017, taking around 10 weeks. The demolition should therefore be finished around the beginning of February 2018, taking into account Christmas. With a clear site, and approval of the pre-commencement conditions, building work can then begin in the spring
Progress is being made and Lidl have been very helpful in keeping us updated on the progress of their negotiations and we expect these will be approved shortly. We can then start to see the building works begin!

September 2018 Arrangements

With the delay in the commencement of the demolition it has become readily apparent that the new school will not be ready for September 2018 and the move into the new school has been delayed by a year. As a result of this, the ESFA are looking at some further temporary accommodation to accommodate the new intake in September 2018 and whilst negotiations have yet to be concluded, they are at an advanced stage. The proposal is for two further mobile classrooms near to the current school buildings together with toilets. We will be able to provide further details once the negotiations have concluded

New classroom in dance studio
Lastly, we are very pleased that the work at our temporary site has been completed over the summer holidays, ready in time for the new school year. The old dance studio has been transformed into a fabulous classroom for year 2 and also provides a new space for mealtimes. This has freed up room in the original portakabin for our growing school.
